- Correctly complete hazardous waste profiles and manifests, and assign wastes to the proper regulatory classifications, and in coordination with the chemist, provide an effective waste minimization strategy including bulking compatible waste streams.
- Ensure that identified and/or procured on and off-site treatment, transportation, storage, and disposal service providers are off-site rule (including but not limited to CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, NESHAP, OPA, and DOT) compliant. He/she shall also be required to ensure selected vendors are permitted to accept the specific type(s) of waste being processed.
- Project estimating and invoicing.
- Sampling any and all chemicals/wastes including soils, liquids, sludges, gases, etc. from various tanks, containers, and environments utilizing a wide array of sampling devices and PPE.
- Air monitoring and monitor calibrations.
- Hazcat (field testing) of unknown chemicals.
- Technical data research including chemical characteristics, chemical hazards, reactivity, inter-chemical compatibility, chemical/equipment compatibility, etc.
- Interpret data and reports.
- Write job proposals and price quotes.
- Neutralizations and stabilizations of small to very large volumes of both liquid and solid chemicals.
- Titrations of various types utilizing field instrumentation and glassware.
- Providing training for employees and third parties in the field of chemistry and chemical characteristics.
- Train for and respond to emergency incidents including highway, railroad, chemical/HazMat spills, oil spills, HazMat warehouse fires, chlorine-related incidents, etc.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s Degree or Masters Degree in chemistry or equivalent required.

- Interpret meaning of information to others; explain rules, policies, procedures or regulations to others; explain and demonstrate work tasks and techniques to new workers or assign training tasks to experienced workers.
- Conduct or attend staff meetings; collaborate with others to communicate with managerial and supervisory personnel.
- A valid state driver’s license with Class A CDL endorsement with no active violations within the previous 3 years preferred.
- HAZWOPER certification preferred.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Understanding of business principles and practices
- Knowledge of materials, methods, equipment & tools involved in remediation services.
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Excellent oral communication skills
